Where East Meets West
It is written that Jesus will remove our sins from us as far as the east is from the west. I love that scripture for so many reasons. On one hand, no matter how far we travel east, we can never reach west. It’s the same thing if we’re traveling west, we can never reach east. But, at each point along the east-west line all we have to do is turn around and we are standing at the exact point where east meets west. That’s the point where God’s grace meets my sin. When I turn to the Lord, He indeed removes my sin as far as the east is from the west. But, if I turn away from the Lord then I turn towards sin. I’m at that point where east meets west. As long as I stay turned towards the Lord, I can never reach that place of sin, again.
